Have you noticed how much attention we give to the digital world ? We watch all these movies. Hundreds or thousands of hours of screen time per year. Then there's social media. Another load of hours poured on top. And then there's video games. Discussions start online. They talk about fictional characters and their motives. Yet no matter what you say... Those digital creations don't exist in the real world. People come to their conclusions and discuss what's going on in the fake world. It's interesting how powerful a story with imagery is. Because as long as you have something to imagine... You can use your emotions to tell the story in your own way. You make up what you think is best for that world. People will argue with you based on their interpretation. But in the end... Those animated characters don't think on their own. They don't have souls. No bodies. No mind. Whatever you say won't matter because they're not real. We discuss fantasy like it's something that exists in our world. Nobody ever counters somebody's argument with: "Yeah well it doesn't exist so it doesn't matter". We all accept that it's fun to discuss the digital world -- even though realistically what we say means nothing in the bigger picture. This shows just how big the digital side is today. It's also why storytellers encourage people to watch movies and read books. Behind those digital assests are real people who wrote and designed those stories. What you get is a demonstration of how professional communicators/storytellers tell and show stories in a captivating way. Which helps you become a better storyteller in your own life... Whether that's for business or entertainment (or your personal hobbies). What do you enjoy the most about the digital world (Movies / games / social media / something else ?) And with that... |

I started reading this book called: "The Challenger Sale". Its premise is around taking control of the conversation with the customer. And what type of seller you should be to increase your chances of closing bigger deals. I'm 50 pages in. So far this book has intrigued me more than I thought. Those open loops are working well. But it's more than the structure keeping me reading. The book talks about the discovery of 5 types of sales reps... after researching tens of thousands of calls and...
A popular skin cream brand is called:“O’Keeffe’s” They make hand and body lotion for dry skin. Their main products are “Working Hands” Cream. I first found out about them over 7 years ago. My hands have always dried up since I wash them too much. Back then and today that’s still the case. In winter they crack and bleed frequently since we always get -10C to -30C weather. So when I looked for hand lotion at the time… This O’Keeffe’s brand whispered to me from the shelf. An all green container...
As I sit here listening to the Pokemon Colosseum soundtrack... I'm thinking how fascinating it is all these different music tracks exist yet each one stands out as a singular piece of art. Every day new soundtracks release. In video games and films and concerts and more. They have soundtracks releasing in all these mediums. Similar instruments and sounds across many of them... But they each hold their own flavour. The instruments and rhythm differ. The tone changes. The themes contrast. So...
